Sunday Dare Tasks NYSC Members on Self Reliance

NYSC Latest News 2021 Update Portal: The Minister for Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare has reiterated Federal Government’s commitment through the creation of N75 billion Nigerian Youth Investment Fund (NYIF) and various youth empowerment/acquisition and digital skills programmes in the ministry targeted at making the youth self-reliant and wealth creators.

He stated this during his visit to the 2021 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Corps Members at the NYSC FCT Orientation Camp, kubwa in Abuja.

Mr Dare encouraged the Corps Members to take advantage of the government’s low interest loan to invest in SMEs while serving and after their service year.
He stressed that youths can access between N250,000 and N3,000,000 under the NYIF Scheme, which was designed to help them become entrepreneurs and employers of labour.

Dare added that NYSC as the single largest concentration of Nigeria youths numbering about 320,000 annually being maintained and sustained over time by the Federal Government would be of great help in achieving Federal Government’s agenda of youth entrepreneurship.

He urged them to allow the lessons of the NYSC Orientation Course abide in them as they serve the country in various capacities as Corps Members.
Earlier in his address, the NYSC FCT Coordinator, Suleiman Abdul, heartily welcomed the Minister and his entourage,he said his visit will further boost the morale of the NYSC officials and propel them to provide ace-services to corps members and numerous clients.

Alhaji Suleiman informed the Minister that the Batch ‘A’ Stream One Corps Members have exhibited exceptional levels of discipline, resilience, loyalty, dedication and patriotism.

He thanked the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development headed by Mr Sunday Dare in coordinating the affairs of the Scheme and for the continuous assistance for NYSC operations.

A total of 1,753 Corps Members comprising 697 male and 1,056 female were registered by the FCT NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp.
